The Bund area was Shanghai's political, economical and cultural centre hundreds of years ago, and consulates of most countries and many banks, businesses and newspaper offices were located here. So take a tour along Zhongshan Road; its famous waterfront of the Huangpu River has been regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years, and on its west shore you can see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Jin Mao Tower.

When touring the Old City, stop and visit the Yuyuan Garden; claimed to be the most magnificent rockery of the Ming dynasty. And while your there take a cruise on the Huangpu River; the most important shipping artery of Shanghai. Cruise between the Yangpu Bridge and Nanpu Bridge for beautiful views of modern skyscrapers and the characteristic buildings of Pudong. Visit the People's Square for more skyscrapers or go shopping along Nanjing West Road.
