Visit the coastal city of Darwin in the tropical north or the landlocked town of Alice Springs in the desert south. Joined by a paved road, and the railway called “the Ghan"; these cities are the ‘poles’ of the Northern Territory with the township of Katherine being the only stop along the line. The Northern Territory has enormous areas of desert covering the south, large areas of bushland with cattle stations and rainforests to the north, but if you’re prepared to travel the long drives in between, you’ll discover several world-famous National Parks at the top of the visitor's list.

Visit the Gulf of Carpentaria for Barranyi National Park, and tour the Tennant Creek region to visit the Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve and the Nyinnka Nyunyu Cultural Centre.
