Located in Central Australia and affectionately known as “The Alice” – Alice Springs offers you a whole lot more than just a town; this regional area has a number of mining and pastoral communities, and tourist attractions at Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Watarrka National Park and the MacDonnell Ranges. The township sits astride the Todd River and was optimistically named Alice Springs (after the wife of the former Postmaster General of South Australia, Sir Charles Todd).

Alice Springs is notoriously famous for the Joint Defence Space Research Facility at Pine Gap and for the heartbreaking novel that become an Australian telly movie ‘A Town Like Alice’. The town of Alice started as a result of the Overland Telegraph line and is now very much reliant on Domestic and International Tourism. Alice is home to numerous hotels, from the 5 star Lasseters Hotel and Casino, to the backpacker at the standard Toddies Resort, as well there are several Caravan Parks.
