Any holiday to Paris would not be complete without a tour of the Eiffel Tower, which has become a global icon of France.

A short guide about France

Of all the places in the world to visit; one must be sure to visit France – as it is today’s most popular tourist destination – with 78 million foreign tourists visiting in 2006 and 81.9 million in 2007. The most popular tourist sites are the Eiffel Tower the Louvre Museum, the Arc de Triomphe and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Others include the Cote d'Azur in the French Riviera and the famous Centre Val de Loire in the Loire Valley.

France features cities of high cultural interest, beaches and seaside resorts, ski resorts, and rural regions that many tourists enjoy for their beauty and tranquillity. So start your journey touring the Ile de France surrounding the French capital; Paris, known as the "City of Light" where you’ll find most of the popular tourist sites, including Versailles; famous for the chateau of Louis XIV.

Feeling patriotic; plan a tour to Northern France where “world wars” have left many scars. Visit the rocky tidal island of Mont St Michel and Normandy. In Northeast France you’ll discover a wider European culture, and the dynamic Flemish city of Lille. Tour the historic city of Strasbourg on the Ill Rhine. The Great West was influenced the Celtics and is reflected in Brittany and the wine city of Bordeaux. Central France is largely an agricultural and viniculture region, featuring river valleys, chateaux and historic towns like the middle aged city of Bourges.

The sea and wine of Southwestern France has nice beaches on the Atlantic Ocean and high mountains; here you’ll find Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrenees. Southeastern France is the primary tourist region of the country outside of Paris, with a warm climate and azure sea. Tour Aix en Provence; the city of water, Cannes; host to the annual Cannes Film Festival, and Lyon, Marseille, Nice, along with the Mediterranean island of Corsica.
