A short guide about Monaco

Imagine being rich and famous for a day or two… well – you can do that in Monaco! This mini state on the Mediterranean is like one big Club Med catering to the rich and famous, and also for those who dream to be... most people don't actually stay in Monaco, they travel there on a daytrip; from the French Riviera in the west, or the Italian Riviera in the east.

The monarchy of Monaco become famous itself when Prince Rainier III; who ruled until 2005, married the American actress Grace Kelly – this event was widely televised and in the press, focusing the world's attention onto the tiny Principality.

After the Vatican; Monaco is the second smallest independent country, taking an average person only 56 minutes to walk across its width, but even so it still remains the world's most densely populated. When visiting Monaco you’ll find it is divided into four areas – so you may want to plan a tour where you can visit; the Old City of Monaco Ville, the Port Quarter; called the Condamine, the Business and Recreation area of Monte Carlo, and Fontvieille; its Recreation and Light industry, a newly constructed area reclaimed from the sea in the 1970’s.

So plan a tour to the famous Monte Carlo Casino when visiting the city of Monte Carlo which is the principal residential and resort area of Monaco – you’ll find it lies between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. Visit Larvotto, Saint Michel and La Rousse; known as Saint Roman, which includes Le Tenao.

Visit Monaco Ville on a rocky promontory extending into the Mediterranean, known as the “Rock of Monaco” where the palace is located. And tour La Condamine; in the northwest section of the port area known as Port Nikolas Flores, here also you’ll find Moneghetti, La Colle, and Les Revoires.
