Calgary is nestled on the banks of the Bow River where the prairies meet the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, and as more than one million people live here – it is the largest Canadian metropolitan area between Toronto and Vancouver. Calgary was also ranked the world's cleanest city in 2007 by Forbes magazine and if you are a resident of Calgary – you would be known as a Calgarian. And wouldn’t it be nice to wake up every morning and know that you are just minutes from world class skiing and hiking in the Rockies, outstanding golf in Kananaskis Country and the beautiful scenery of Banff National Park.

Calgary is well-known as a destination for winter sports and ecotourism, with a number of major mountain resorts near the city and metropolitan area, and is also home to the world famous Calgary Stampede. Take a ride to the top of the Calgary Tower and visit the Heritage Park and Historical Village, there is also the Glenbow Museum, Calgary Zoo, Botanical Gardens and the Prehistoric Park to visit.

Calgary holds many major annual festivals which include the Calgary Stampede, the Folk Music Festival, the Lilac Festival, One Yellow Rabbit High Performance Rodeo, and Calgary’s International Festival of the Arts, Wordfest - Banff-Calgary International Writers Festival, One World Festival (GlobalFest), and the fourth largest Caribbean festival in the country (Carifest).
